Swedish Massage (or therapeutic massage) is the manipulation of the soft tissues (ie. skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments) of the body. It is a firm massage and has a set routine of techniques that vary from deep pressure which stimulates the body's systems, to a slower and more superficial movement which aids relaxation.

Massage has many beneficial effects on the physiological, psychologicial and physical levels. Some of the more commonly known benefits include the following:
